Goals

Our goals are to:

  • Offer a space for people to access some city services.
  • Provide resources to address safety and livability concerns along East Lake Street.
  • Connect residents, businesses, and visitors to services while we build the permanent South Minneapolis Community Safety Center.

Addressing community needs

Some needs that the city could address include:

  • Filing or getting a police report
  • Getting information about services
  • Meeting with community services providers
  • Allowing space for service providers to meet and work together

Vision for the safety center pilot

We will put the Lake Street Safety Center into action quickly. It will be located where the community has expressed a strong need for services or support.

This Safety Center will give you a chance to connect with City and community partners.

Visitors will be able to:

  • Get information
  • Ask questions
  • Connect to services and resources
