You can report a traffic sign that needs repair, or request the installation or removal of a sign.

What to do

If a sign is missing, damaged or is a threat to public safety

  • Report any missing, damaged or worn signs, or signs completely covered by graffiti. 
  • If a sign is only partially covered by graffiti, report graffiti instead.
  • If a stop sign is down or a sign is blocking traffic, call 911.

To complete the report, you must provide an email address. We'll email you with a case number and expected completion date.

If a sign is no longer needed

Request the removal of an unneeded sign.

No longer needed sign examples:

  • Disability zone
  • Valet zone
  • Commercial loading zone.

If you want to request a new traffic sign

You can request to have a new sign installed. We install signs based on state and federal standards.

Traffic & Parking Services will make a decision based on the following: 

  • Traffic and pedestrian volumes
  • Vehicle speeds
  • Accident history
  • Visibility
  • Sign spacing
  • Other conditions 

You must provide an email address. We'll email you with a case number and expected completion date.

We will install these types of signs:

  • Alley speed limit (customer must install on private property)
  • Regulatory, warning and informational signs
  • Speed limit (over 30 MPH)

We will install these signs for a fee:

  • Loading Zone
  • No Parking Zone
  • Short Term Parking Zone

We do not repair, install or maintain these signs:

  • No Turn On Red
  • No Parking Corner Clearance
  • No Parking On Bridges
  • No Parking Fire Zone
  • No Parking During Church Service
  • No Parking Squads Only
  • Children at Play / Deaf Child / Blind Child / Autistic Child
