South Transfer Station is for City customers only

You must have City garbage or water service to use the site.

Household garbage and furniture
Large recyclable items - Limit of two per voucher
- Household appliances and electronics
- Mattresses and box springs (each mattress or box spring counts as one item)
Scrap metal
Shingles
Building materials
Tires – Limit of eight per voucher

If you have City garbage collection service, you get vouchers to use at the South Transfer Station each year.

If you do not have City garbage collection, but do have a Minneapolis water bill, you can request a pay per use pass.

Extra fees will be added to the utility bill for the property. Cash, checks and credit cards are not accepted at the transfer station.

You'll be charged an extra fee if you:

Go over the voucher's limit
Have already used your six cleanup or two tire vouchers for the year
Use more than one voucher in a trip (ex. two vehicles or combine vouchers to cover extra weight over the limit)
Exit the facility without going on the outbound scale and speaking with the attendant
