Pre-adoptions for cats and dogs
You can now “call dibs” on a pet during their stray hold period.
Through pre-adoption, you can choose a cat or dog before they become available for general adoption.
How it works
- To pre-adopt, you must visit the shelter in person to meet the animal.
- If the animal’s owner does not reclaim them during the stray hold, your pre-adoption moves forward.
- Once the pet is spayed or neutered, we’ll contact you to schedule an adoption appointment for the day after their surgery.
It’s a great way to get a head start on welcoming your new best friend home.
