City services during COVID-19
To minimize the risk of spreading coronavirus disease 19, governments from the federal to the local level as well as individual organizations have put safety measures in place.
While a lot is changing and there are unknowns, we are compiling a list of coronavirus impacts on City services and links to other resources on one webpage, minneapolismn.gov/coronavirus. You'll find updates such as:
- City hearings, meetings and events: The City has canceled most of its public hearings and meetings for appointed boards and commissions through Friday, April 17. Some boards and commissions, like the City Council, which are required under state law and City Charter, will continue to meet during this time. The public is encouraged to monitor these meetings remotely via broadcast or live-streaming available at minneapolismn.gov/tv/citycounciltv.
- Free internet access: USI opened its Wi-Fi network in Minneapolis for those that may need temporary Internet access. Select the “City of Minneapolis Public WiFi” or “USI Wireless” network on your mobile device and you will be connected.
We encourage you to generously share the updates and the page with your own neighbors, family and colleagues.
The webpage will be updated as information becomes available and as the situation changes.
