Hale

Location and General Characteristics

Hale is located in southeast Minneapolis and is bound by Minnehaha Creek on the north, Cedar Avenue on the east, 55th Street on the south and Chicago Avenue on the west. The neighborhood is named after the Hale elementary school with a focus on music and art. A mostly residential neighborhood, its adjoining park facilities border the southwestern tip of Lake Nokomis. In the north, Minnehaha Creek opens up to miles of bicycle and pedestrian paths.

Cottontail on the Trail is a bronze sculpture by Jeff Barber at Portland Avenue and East Minnehaha Parkway. The bunny represents both the animal life and whimsy of the neighborhood.
