Although following the citywide trend, the income level is much higher in Cooper than in the city. Median household income in the neighborhood grew between 1980 and 2000 by $8,000, while it only grew by about $5,000 in the city in the same period. In 2000 the median neighborhood income was about $13,000 richer than the city's as a whole.
