How we help employees

The City of Minneapolis keeps updating the laws that help workers. Our Civil Rights Department makes sure these laws are followed:

    • Paid sick leave
    • Minimum wage
    • Wage theft prevention 

How we help employers

We let employers know how to follow City of Minneapolis labor standards for employees. The City has:

  • Given free support to businesses:
    • 4,000 support sessions to date
    • Lets businesses know about labor laws
  • Sponsored a small business program that funds:
    • Payroll processing
    • Bookkeeping services
  • Created resources to help employers follow the laws:
    • Templates
    • Checklists
    • Sample policies
