Closing Message

Skyway Senior Center_Closing Letter (PNG)Dear Skyway Senior Center Participant and Stakeholder,

We are deeply saddened to report the Minneapolis Skyway Senior Center closed permanently on Friday, March 31, 2017, due to a lack of sustainable funding.  At the end of 2015, UCare was unable to continue its sponsorship of the Skyway Senior Center.  Multiple attempts were made to secure funding throughout 2016 and into 2017 without success.

The Minneapolis Skyway Senior Center opened in 2001 and has been privately funded, with in-kind support from the City of Minneapolis, since it opened.  Thank you to the many participants and volunteers who have sustained the Center since its inception.  The Center served as a resource for older adults and to that end, we have compiled a list of senior community resources, including other senior centers.

Thank you for your participation and support of the Skyway Senior Center.
