Foreclosure Recovery Analysis: 2008-2014
The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) financed a report that was conducted by a consultant group, Corporate FACTS, to analyze outcomes related to housing investments from 2008-2014. The report focused on investments made in single family homes and low density rental housing. It included an outcomes analysis of home improvement lending, land banking, project financing, and downpayment assistance investments made by the City through a variety of financial sources and programs. The report was finalized in April 2016 and includes recommendations for future investment that the City of Minneapolis will continue to explore through additional data analysis and community engagement prior to implementation.
Multifamily Housing Reports
The Multifamily Housing Development section of CPED administers several financing programs designed to develop and preserve affordable housing throughout the city. The programs focus on providing mixed-income multifamily rental housing and multi-unit ownership housing projects with 10 or more units. Information about recent multifamily housing production is updated quarterly for both completed projects and those that are closed and currently under construction.
Affordable Housing Reports
The Affordable Housing Policy for the City of Minneapolis was adopted by the City Council on September 7, 1999 and amended on February 16, 2001. The policy contains three requirements and eight goals for affordable housing production and directs CPED to prepare an annual report to the community regarding affordable housing activity related to the resolution.
New Housing Production Reports
In 2004 and 2005, CPED produced reports to track new housing production in the City. These reports, which were not continued after 2005, offered information on rental and ownership projects ranging from single-family homes to high-rise apartments.
Minneapolis Trends Reports are quarterly overviews of socioeconomic and housing trends in Minneapolis. The reports provide information on the housing stock and affordable housing, as well other city trends including economic indicators and residential growth.
