Truth in Housing FAQs

A re-inspection is required if the Truth in Housing (TISH) process indicated the need for repairs.  Use the frequently asked questions (FAQs) list below to answer your TISH re-inspection process.

Who inspects the house after the repairs are done?

After the required repairs on a property are completed, a re-inspection must be done to verify that all the needed work was done correctly.

How is the re-inspection scheduled?

How much does the re-inspection cost?

Note: If an appointment is missed, or if repeated inspections are needed, the inspector or evaluator may require additional fees.

When does the re-inspection need to be done?

The buyer has 90 days from the date of closing to complete the required repairs and get them re-inspected. An extension can be requested by filling out and submitting the extension form before the 90 day due date.
