Protect our pollinators; do not rake your leaves

February 2, 2024

It sounds strange to say this in February, but please do not rake your leaves right now. Pollinators nest in the broken stems of plants and overwinter in leaf piles. Even though we have warmer temperatures in the forecast, please do not go rake any leaves that you didn’t get to before yard waste season ended.

The last yard waste pickup was at the end of November/beginning of December. It will pick up again in the spring.
