Portions of select Minneapolis streets will temporarily close as the City celebrates the 2024 Minneapolis Aquatennial with the mpls downtown council.  

Starting at noon today until around 10 p.m., the following streets will close to make way for the Torchlight Parade, which begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight:  

• 1st Ave. S (between E 15th St and Grant St.  
• E. Grant St. (between 1st Ave S and S 12 St. 

The parade route starts at S. 12th St., continues nine blocks down Nicollet Mall, and ends at S. 3rd St. Select streets will be open to vehicle traffic during the parade: 

• S. 10th St. 
• S. 7th St.  
• S. 6th St. 
• S. 5th St. 

On Saturday, July 27, several streets will close to prepare for the fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m. and the rest of the festivities this weekend:  

• Central Ave. SE bridge 
• Portland Ave. Between S. 2nd St. and W. River Parkway
• W. River Parkway north and west of 11th Ave. S
• W. River Parkway south and east of N. 4th Ave.
