This project is part of the ongoing street maintenance program.

ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades

City staff will upgrade pedestrian ramps to current ADA standards in 2024.

Resurfacing

City staff will resurface the streets in this area in 2024.  We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street.  The new pavement should last at least 10 years.

CenterPoint Energy

CenterPoint Energy will be performing work ahead of the pavement resurfacing.  For details and updates see their project website.

Schedule

Project schedule:  

  • Project work completed by the end of October 2024.
  • Mill and overlay work begins the week of September 9th, 2024.  
  • Select curb and gutter replacement work began the week of July 8th, 2024. 
  • Project staff held an informational meeting on Monday, May 13th, 2024.

Traffic impacts

Roads closed to traffic in intervals during milling and paving for brief periods of time.  Roads will remain open during the evenings and nights.
