Bryant Ave green stormwater infrastructure
Dates
2024-2025
Project overview
We are improving the rain gardens on Bryant Avenue. Last fall, we mowed vegetation and removed sediment and debris. Next, we will remove invasive plants, smooth steep slopes, and install native plants. Learning from other projects, we will use larger potted plants for this restoration. Throughout the growing season, we will water and weed to make sure plants are healthy. When the rain garden basins are complete, they will collect and treat stormwater runoff.
Background
We reconstructed Bryant Avenue between West 50th Street and Lake Street. This was to improve pedestrian safety and create a bicycle connection in the area. It also supports existing and future transit service. We installed green infrastructure to collect and treat stormwater runoff.
