Beltrami and Monroe ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades and resurfacing

Program overview

This project is part of the ongoing street maintenance program. 

ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades

The City upgraded pedestrian ramps to current Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards.  This work was completed in 2023.   

Resurfacing

 City staff will resurface the streets in this area in 2024.  We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street.  The new pavement should last at least 10 years.

CenterPoint Energy

CenterPoint Energy will be performing work ahead of pavement resurfacing.  For details and updates see their project website: CenterPoint Energy, Beltrami-Neighborhood

Schedule

Project schedule:

  • Project work completed by the end of October 2024. 
  • Mill and overlay work to begin the week of October 15th, 2024.  The work will be on Monroe St NE between Central Ave and Broadway St NE.  
  • Mill and overlay work began the week of May 28th, 2024.  The work will be on streets south of Broadway Ave and east of Central Ave
  • Select curb and gutter work began the week of May 6th, 2024. 

Traffic impacts

October 15, 2024 - October 18, 2024: Monroe St NE between Central Ave and Broadway St is closed and detoured. Roads will remain open to local traffic overnight.
