Bancroft Pond maintenance
Project overview
Background
We built Bancroft Holding Pond as a response to the 1987 storm that dropped over 10 inches of rain in a few hours. As the City’s first traditional flood pond, Bancroft is beginning to show its age. After 35 years of service, the pond is long due for some restoration and improvements.
Project overview
Our 2025 Pond Maintenance Project will begin in mid-April. We will start with the excavation and grading of 1,000 cubic yards of accumulated sediment. In addition to the dredging work, we will be:
- Replacing pathways
- Replacing bollards
- Updating the outlet structure
- Repairing fencing
- Maintaining and upgrading vegetation
- Removing bus shelter
- Stabilizing slopes

The project will be completed in early June, exact dates weather dependent.
