46th Ave S resurfacing
The City will remove and add a new layer of asphalt to the streets on 46th Ave S, between 38th St E and 46th St E.
Project overview
In 2023, City staff will resurface the streets in this area. We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street. The new pavement should last at least 10 years.
ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades
We will also be upgrading all existing street corners to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This work will be completed before the resurfacing process begins.
Schedule
The City will mill and overlay 46th Ave S. beginning on August 9th, 2023 through August 29th, 2023.
Traffic impacts
46th Ave S will be closed and detoured during mill and overlay work. 46th Ave S will be accessible to local traffic during the evenings and overnight. 42nd St E will remain open. Metro Transit will detour bus routes to 42nd Ave S during this time.
