Project overview

This project is part of the ongoing street maintenance program.

Resurfacing

City staff will resurface the streets in this area in 2024.  We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street.  The new pavement should last at least 10 years.

Schedule

• Project work completed by the end of October 2024.
• The City will resurface the pavement on 11th Ave S between the light rail and 8th St S on September 27th and 28th, 2024.
• The City will resurface the pavement on 11th Ave S between West River Parkway and the light rail the week of October 7th through October 12th, 2024.  
• Select curb and gutter replacement work to begin the week of August 5th, 2024.
• Project staff held a pre-public hearing on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024.

Traffic impacts

11th Ave S will be closed and detoured to Park Ave S and Portland Ave S during construction. Expect traffic delays during construction on 7th St S on September 27th and 28th.
