Community engagement

Give your input on the traffic safety camera pilot.

Community engagement

Past engagement

The City asked for public feedback on traffic safety cameras in 2019, 2022, and 2024 and received comments from over 3,500 people. Most people supported the use of traffic cameras, but we also heard many concerns.

The most common concerns were about:

  • Fairness
  • Equity
  • Privacy
  • Trust

We used this feedback to set the goals of the pilot program and decide how it would work to address the concerns.

Upcoming engagement

Before the pilot begins in August 2025, we will engage the public again on traffic safety cameras. We will inform people about the upcoming pilot program and share its details.

We will also gather feedback from communities about potential camera locations in their neighborhoods. The feedback we receive will help determine which locations we choose for the pilot.
