Blueprint Approved Institute

We train and fund people and small organizations working to prevent violence.

Become more effective and sustainable

The Blueprint Approved Institute (BPAI) helps those doing violence prevention or intervention work. We help businesses and nonprofits to build their own skills. There are many different ways to get involved.

We offer:

  • Learning sessions
  • Funding opportunities
  • Networking events

Over the last 10 years, the program has helped 75 organizations expand. We help to build their organizational capacity and stay sustainable.

BPAI learning sessions

Build your skills

We provide free learning sessions. They are open to new and alumni organizations who do violence prevention work.

Attend our sessions to:

  • Engage in meaningful conversations.
  • Access helpful templates and resources.
  • Build your organization's skills.

Our sessions help leaders and groups to

  • Build management skills and ability to track progress.
  • Understand and manage grants and contracts to keep their work going.
  • Build and manage teams, boards, volunteers, and partners.
  • Connect with other community groups to share ideas and work together.

There is a limited opportunity to receive a $5,000 contract for a small pilot project.

Violence Prevention Workers Network (VPWN)

The meetings focus on:

  • Building community
  • Idea and resource sharing
  • Updates from the City's Neighborhood Safety Department

The 2025 meetings will take place in February, April, July and October.
