Minneapolis has a great network of scenic walking trails and sidewalks. With just under 1,800 miles of city sidewalk, you can get almost anywhere in the city by walking and rolling. Walking is free, good for your health, and allows you more flexibility as you go. Visit local businesses and meet your neighbors while taking a stroll.

Transportation resources for students

Students can spend less getting around the city. Colleges partner with Metro Transit to offer lower-cost transit passes. Visit your school’s website to learn about the college pass program at your school.

Minneapolis and St. Paul partner with Hourcar’s carshare service, Evie. Evie gives you access to short term use of an electric car and curbside charging hubs.

Minneapolis has many transit options to help you get around the city. Options include light rail, frequent-stop buses, and bus rapid transit (BRT). Transfer seamlessly between different lines without paying an extra fare for 2.5 hours.
