The future Community Safety Center

The City of Minneapolis will provide a community safety center in the 3rd precinct geographic area. 

  • City leadership voted to build a community safety center at 2633 Minnehaha Ave. 
  • It will be called the South Minneapolis Community Safety Center.
  • The Safety Center will have the 3rd Precinct police station. It'll have other community services and resources as well. 

We will keep you up-to-date on our plans for the Community Safety Center.

The following services will be in the safety center:

  • 311 Service Center
  • Culturally specific community navigators
  • Domestic violence services
  • Mental health services
  • Police
  • Youth services

These resources will also be available:

  • Advocacy and training about preventing and ending human trafficking
  • Community meeting room
  • Kitchen for making community meals
  • Medication disposal box
  • Space for children to play while their adults are in the center
