Overview

You can learn about our three primary approaches for reducing violence.

Approaches

The Office of Violence Prevention is guided by research, evidence, and national best practices.

We work with our local communities to make sure solutions reflect community.

We manage many violence-reduction programs. They fall into three primary categories.

  • Evidence-informed strategies
  • Innovation and capacity building
  • Youth-centered

Each program addresses violence at one of three points.

  • Before it begins (prevention)
  • At the first sign of risk (support)
  • After it happens (healing)
