About Green Cost Share

Green Cost Share helps home and property owners pay for home improvements that save energy. Learn how you can take part in this program, save money, and help make our community healthier.

Qualifying projects

Green Cost Share provides rebates for home improvement projects that lower energy use such as:

  • Insulation
  • Energy-efficient appliances

You can see what projects qualify on the Center for Energy and Environment's (CEE) bonus rebates webpage. Eligible projects are under the "Eligible improvements and rebate amounts" header.

You can apply for a rebate directly through CEE if you have done one of these within the last 60 days:

  • Completed an eligible project
  • Bought eligible equipment

You can participate in this program if your home or property is in Minneapolis. Single family and 2- to 4-unit properties are eligible.

Plan your projects

Work with CEE to plan home energy improvement projects, find contactors and get loans.

Get your rebate

Once your work is complete, CEE will send you a check for your rebate. Based on the work you have done, you can receive up to $14,000 if you live in a Green Zone and up to $5,000 if you don't. 

Your home energy improvements will start saving you money on your energy bills.
