You may be able to avoid having a crime on your record by taking part in a diversion program. We offer diversion programs for the following types of crimes.

  • Traffic moving violations
  • Driving without a valid license
  • Shoplifting
  • Dining and dashing
  • Failure to pay cab fare
  • Livabililty or nuisance offenses
  • Obstructing a police officer, without use of force

Reduce disparities

Our City Attorney's office wants to reduce our legal system's:

  • Economic disparities
  • Racial disparities

One of the ways we do this is through diversion programs.

Reduce repeat offenses

Diversion programs allow us to:

  • Hold you accountable for your crime without putting it on your record.
  • Make sure you learn from your crime.
  • Help you avoid repeating the crime in the future.
