- We shared the report about what we heard from community members in the spring.
- Request for information issued.
- Service providers could tell us how they might provide services in the safety center.

Closed on property
We finished buying the property at 2633 Minnehaha Ave.
January - April 2024
Property inspections
The 90-day due diligence period begins.
During this time, the City will perform:
- Property inspections
- Environmental testing
- More actions as needed
The due diligence period ends April 15, 2024.
January 2024
Funding and purchase agreement
- $10 million in funding towards these efforts became available January 1, 2024.
- On January 26, we signed the purchase agreement for 2633 Minnehaha Ave property.

Property for Safety Center found
- The Minneapolis City Council gave approval to purchase 2633 Minnehaha Ave.
- We will use this property for the South Minneapolis Community Safety Center.
- The Safety Center will have the 3rd Precinct police station. It'll have other community services and resources as well.
