Comply with Unified Housing Policy
All housing projects seeking brownfield grant funding must comply with the City's Unified Housing Policy.
For example, at least 20 percent of the units in a residential rental project be affordable to (and occupied by) households earning 60 percent or less of the Area Median Income (AMI) for a period of not less than 30 years.
The City Council can waive the affordability requirements for part of a large housing development if:
- The project as a whole meets the affordability standards on a blended basis.
- The applicant submits a letter of request and supporting documents by the pre-application deadline.
