City Council actions

In November, the City Council approved:

• The purchase of the site
• An environmental investigation of the site

• City Council approves purchase of 3744 Chicago Ave
• City Council approves Right of Entry to access 3744 Chicago Ave to perform environmental investigations

In June the City:

• Completed its due diligence
• Purchased the property

• We encourage all community members to be part of engagement events in 2024.
• Some events will include discussion on community priorities for the Peoples Way.
• We will include the community's priorities in a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to choose a community owner. The RFQ is a way for the City to ask interested group to apply to the City to become the future community owner.
• The City's goal is to issue the RFQ in late 2024. The RFQ will be open for approximately two months.

• City staff will work with community members to recommend one community owner to the City Council and the Mayor.
• The Mayor and City Council will make the final selection of the future community owner.
• The selected owner, community, and City staff will work together to shape the future of the site.
