How to use the dashboard

Purpose of tool

• You can use this tool to estimate the impact of levy changes to Minneapolis taxpayers.
• This dashboard only calculates City levied taxes.
• It does not include other taxes such as:
  • County
  • State
  • Park Board
• It shows projections for 2024 compared to best estimates for 2023.
• All projections are subject to change, not final calculations.

Parts of the tool

Filter at the top

Use the filters in the grey bar at the top of the page to sort by:

• Property group
• Ward
• District
• Levy change scenario

City ward map on the left

The map shows the projected tax impact by City ward.

• The darker the blue, the greater the tax increase.
• The lighter the blue, the less the tax increase or greater the decrease..
• The map will change to a view of the Downtown Improvement District if that is selected in the District filter at the top.

Estimated market value and taxes table on the top

This table shows projected changes to estimated market values and City taxes.

From left to right:

• Column 1 – Percentile
• Column 2 – Dollar amount of market value for the previous tax year
• Column 3 - Dollar amount of estimated market value for the current tax year
• Column 4  – Projected percentage of change in estimated market value (EMV)
• Column 5  – Estimated taxes for the previous tax year
• Column 6 – Projected taxes for the current tax year based on the Levy change scenario selected.
• Column 7 – Projected dollar amount and percentage of tax change over the previous year based on the Levy change scenario selected.

This gives a visual of how many parcels may see:

• Tax decreases
• Tax increases by percentage group
