Affirmative marketing plans

You must submit an affirmative marketing plan for a housing project that uses City funds.

The Fair Housing Act

  • The Fair Housing Act makes sure everyone has a fair chance to find housing.
  • Affirmative marketing is one of the things we do to comply with the Fair Housing Act.

Affirmative marketing requirement

We require developers of City-funded housing projects to do two things.

  • Submit an Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plan (AHFMP) when you apply for funding.
  • Submit a fair housing marketing plan survey as part of your annual compliance requirement
