Located in Southwest Minneapolis, Windom (pdf), like its neighborhood school, is named after William Windom who served as both U.S. Senator and Secretary of the Treasury in the mid-to-late 1800s.
Windom is bordered by Diamond Lake Road on the North, 35W on the East, Crosstown 62 on the South, and Highway 121 and Lyndale Avenue on the West.
