Homegrown Minneapolis Highlights, (December 2013)

The Roadmap for City Food Sector Innovation and Investment is a guidance document to help cities focus and develop investment strategies to increase the number of new innovations and ventures in their local food systems, and to better the odds of their survival and success." The City of Minneapolis was a partner on this US Sustainability Directors Network funded research with Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Vancouver.

Implementation Task Force

The final report and recommendations were presented to the Minneapolis City Council in June 2009. City Council members unanimously passed a resolution officially supporting local foods and establishing a Task Force to guide the implementation of key recommendations. This 16-member Task Force, consisting of representatives from City departments, City Council, and community and organizational partners, will meet regularly over the next 2 years.
