Applying for a Sidewalk Inspection Permit
City Ordinance states that before any sidewalk repairs are performed a Sidewalk Inspection Permit must be obtained. The purpose of this section is to provide the applicant the necessary steps to secure this sidewalk inspection permit.
Follow these steps before you start work:
A bond in the amount of $15,000 is required annually. Mail the bond to: Sidewalk Inspections, 1901 East 26th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55404. Allow a minimum of 4 weeks for processing.

First-time users in this system will be required to create a login.
After your sidewalk construction permit is processed in RoWay, you will receive an email with an attachment from Minneapolis Sidewalk Inspections. Your permit fee is based on the scope of your work of your project. Instructions will be included in the email regarding where to send your fee. Please do not send your permit fee to the Sidewalk Inspections Department.
After your fee payment has been processed by the Finance Department of the City of Minneapolis they will email you your Sidewalk Construction Permit.
