Public Works is Hiring - Automotive Mechanic Trainee - Applications Due June 14, 2019

Attend Automotive Mechanic school and work for the Employer for up to 40 hours combined per week at a level that meets or exceeds expectations:
  1. Regularly attend classes as scheduled by the school and the trainee supervisor.
  2. Maintain a full-time course load as established by the educational institution.
  3. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.
Other job duties and responsibilities as listed in the job posting.
Public Works will have the Automotive Mechanic Trainee position open for application until June 14, 2019.
Minimum Qualifications – REQUIRED
Applicants must be 18 years or older at time of application.
High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class D Driver's License at time of Hire
  • Must obtain a Class B with air brake endorsement within 1 year of hire.
  • The City will provide training and assistance as needed to obtain a CDL.

  • Without it, your application will be deemed as incomplete and will not be submitted for further consideration.

  • Medical Examination
The individual hired into this position will be required to sign a contract that states they will complete their post-secondary education requirements and then work for the City for three (3) years after completion of the Automotive Mechanic Trainee Program. The City will cover the cost of required education.
