Lynnette Douglas-Coleman is a Public Works Service Worker I. She has a lot to share about working in the Surface Water & Sewer division.
The City of Minneapolis is hiring Public Works Service Worker I's to perform non-skilled and skilled manual labor and drive trucks. To qualify, individuals must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or better, and have one year experience operating heavy construction equipment
Applicants with no related experience or CDL will be considered for a Service Worker Trainee position. If hired as a Trainee, the Public Works department will assist you with obtaining the necessary qualifications to become a Service Worker I during your first year of employment
Public Works Service Worker I
The Public Works Service Worker I performs manual labor, drives trucks and operates equipment to support the department's construction and maintenance activities. A complete description of this position can be found here.
Public Works Service Worker Trainee
The Public Works Service Worker Trainee performs manual labor, learns to drive trucks and operate equipment to support the department's construction and maintenance activities. Public Works will support you in successfully obtaining your CDL Class B license. A complete description of this position can be found here.
