The Sperling’s BestPlaces.net. In its 2010 list, the site ranked Minneapolis area the eighth best area in the country.

Sperling’s list takes into consideration a number of factors from cost of living to crime rates, the number of colleges and how healthy the population is, as well as access to museums, shows, sporting and other events and stability. Stability of an area is defined by Sperling as modest growth without large spikes in any of the livability factors that could lead to large busts and disruption within a community.
