Open house shares plans for the new I-94 exit ramp into Downtown

Plans are moving forward to design a new freeway exit ramp from westbound Interstate 94 into downtown Minneapolis. The I-94W to 7th Street Ramp Project will reorient traffic into downtown Minneapolis by installing a new off-ramp from westbound I-94 to 7th Street and improve efficiency of downtown traffic flow. The project also includes some roadway improvements to 7th Street between 13th Avenue South and 11th Avenue South. Once the 7th Street ramp is open to traffic, the existing 5th Street ramp from westbound I-94 will be closed and reused as part of a separate project.

The City of Minneapolis and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will hold their second public open house for this project on Monday, June 30 to present the preferred alternative for the I-94W to 7th Street Ramp Project.

Open house: I-94W to 7th Street Ramp Project
4:30 – 7 p.m. Monday, June 30
Bethlehem Baptist Church – main hall
720 13th Ave. S

Residents and businesses in the area who would be most affected by this are invited to attend the open house to hear more information about the project and provide feedback. Project staff will be available to discuss and answer questions on the project purpose and the preferred alternative for the ramp/roadway design.

A limited amount of parking is available onsite.  Metro Transit Route 14 as well as several other bus routes have stops nearby.
