In 1989, 7 percent of the population 65 years old and older lived in poverty, but the percentage declined in 1999 to 4 percent, while 2 percent of all ages lived in poverty.

This neighborhood has a very small percentage of families living in poverty, and the percentage declined from 1979 to 1999. Only 1 percent of the families were below the poverty level in 1999, and none of them had children. In comparison, 12 percent of all families and 19 percent of families with children lived in poverty in Minneapolis in 1999.
