Marshall Terrace's child population increased 16 percent between 1980 and 2000, while the adult and senior population decreased 6 percent and 27 percent respectively.

Marshall Terrace changed significantly in its ethnic makeup between 1980 and 2000. With the exception of whites, all ethnic groups increased during this period. The neighborhood went from 97 percent white in 1980 to 74 percent in 2000. In 2000, Hispanics were the second largest ethnic group at 8 percent of the neighborhood population.
