Labor force

The proportion of people age 16 and older in Kenny Labor force participation increased between 1980 and 2000 in both the neighborhood and the city. However, in 1990 the neighborhood rate decreased slightly. In 2000, Kenny's rate was higher than the citywide rate: 75 percent of the neighborhood's population over the age of 16 participated in the labor force compared to 72 percent for Minneapolis.

The unemployment rate trends for Minneapolis and Kenny were similar between 1980 and 2000, although the neighborhood had a much lower rate. In both the city and the neighborhood, unemployment peaked in 1990 and then declined in 2000 but ended above the 1980 level.
