Household size in Field decreased from 1980 to 2000, but still remains higher than the Minneapolis average. The trend for Field has been moving in the opposite direction from Minneapolis, which experienced an increase from 1990 to 2000.

Between 1980 and 2000 the percentage of householders in the neighborhood living alone has risen 5 percent to 32 percent, but the proportion is still lower than the citywide average of 40 percent in 2000.
