Labor force

The labor force participation rate in Corcoran was 71 percent in 2000, slightly less than the Minneapolis average. The number of people in the neighborhood working or looking for work stayed stable from 1980 to 2000, and was relatively close to the citywide labor force participation rate during that time period.

The unemployment rate of residents of the Corcoran neighborhood was 6.8 percent in 2000. This was a 0.5 percent increase from 1990 and the highest for the neighborhood over the past 20 years. Compared to the city as a whole, Corcoran's unemployment rate was significantly higher in 1980, fell below the citywide average in 1990, then surpassed the city in 2000.
