At the 2018 Community Connections Conference we are proud to welcome four outstanding local women in leadership from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. for the panel discussion Envisioning Change and Leadership, an interactive conversation on equity and transformative leadership. Each panelist brings a wealth of experience in organizing to create change in their respective fields. Read about workshops and see the schedule on the Community Connections Conference Programming webpage.

Jennifer Srey – #ReleaseMN8 Campaign

Jennifer, along with members of the Cambodian and Asian American Minnesotan communities, led efforts against the wrongful detention of eight Cambodian Minnesotans by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The detainees were facing deportation to a country that many of them have never set foot in. This situation, despite the fact they have families, jobs and deep ties to their community, is because of crimes that they committed in the past – crimes they have already paid their legal debt for.

Patina Park – Executive Director, Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center
