(1) Pools meeting the following shall be exempt from building permit per State Code: prefabricated swimming pools installed entirely above ground accessory to one or two-family dwellings which do not exceed both 5000 gallons in capacity and 24 inch depth. (For reference a 15 foot diameter pool, 48" deep has a capacity of just over 5000 gallons.)

(2) Homeowners can perform work on their own properties without a contractor.

(3) Pools above, even if qualifying for the State exemption from building permit are required to meet the conditions of the City ordinance.
