Alcohol License Education

Minnesota state law does not allow the sale of alcoholic beverage to people under 21 years of age or to obviously intoxicated individuals. This may result in the suspension or loss of the restaurant, bar, or liquor store's license to sell alcoholic beverages.

Here is information about how to apply for an alcohol license in Minneapolis, entertainment classes for on-sale alcohol businesses, and frequently asked questions.

We have created documents to help you protecting your business:
We also invite you to join us at our monthly Liquor In the City (LINC) meetings.

Changes in ownership or operations

If you plan to change an owner or some of your business operations, you must first get approval from us. Failure to report this may lead to losing your license. Send us one of the following applications.
