Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The City of Minneapolis seeks a proven strategic leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Position is responsible for $1.2 billion budget and provides executive direction to the Finance and Property Services Department, which includes overseeing financial transactions, developing creative financial options for City departments, managing debt planning and issuance, advising on the fiscal aspects of economic development priorities and projects, etc. 

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in public finance or related field required, plus five years of upper-level management experience in a complex, decentralized organization with a wide range of financial activities including accounting, investments, debt management, budgeting, long-range financial planning, financial analysis, and development finance. A Master’s degree preferred, or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation / Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO). Union environment experience preferred. Seasonal Legislative Aide -- Temporary/Permit – Office of Intergovernmental Relations (IGR)

The City of Minneapolis Office of Intergovernmental Relations is looking to hire an undergraduate junior or senior, or a recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree.  Successful applicant will work closely with Intergovernmental Relations staff as they advocate for the City of Minneapolis’ legislative agenda at the state legislature. This full-time, temporary employment will be up to six months, starting in January 2016. Applicants should have an understanding of the Minnesota State Legislature and an interest in legislative/local government policy issues.

Salary Range: $13.29 to $17.37 / hour (depending on qualifications). This temporary position is not benefits eligible. For further position information, CLICK HERE. Communications Director, Office of the Mayor

This is a politically appointed position and is responsible for building and executing a strategy for communicating the Mayor's policies and vision to a multitude of audiences throughout the city, state, region, and country, using a variety of tools and platforms.  The director is also tasked with shaping office-wide messaging, collaborating with other City departments on internal and external messaging, and providing strategic counsel to the Mayor.  The director serves as the office's on-the-record spokesperson and is responsible for providing representatives of news media with accurate and timely responses to inquiries.  This position optimizes various communications tools to support the efforts of the Mayor and the City.
